ps. In case you’re just tuning in: why does this win in Wisconsin mean so much?

Nationally, we have MOMENTUM. In every competitive race in 2025 so far — from VA to IA to NH to PA, and now WI — Democrats are overperforming. Voters are sick of Trump, Musk, and their chaotic smash-and-grab authoritarianism.

This is a turning point in the narrative against the Trump / Musk agenda.

In Wisconsin, this victory gives us a fighting chance to…

  • Prevent MAGA control of this 2028 swing state
  • Prevent the state from being re-gerrymandered
  • Potentially un-gerrymander a US House seat
  • Strengthen voting rights
  • Repeal Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban
  • Restore collective bargaining rights
  • Help win fair redistricting in 2031

What role did MVP and our Wisconsin partners play?

  • MVP invested close to $600k in partisan funds to 12 local partner organizations.
  • Our local partners targeted moderate-leaning to Democratic voters in 20+ counties, leading tailored voter persuasion and mobilization by door, phone, text, mail, digital ads, relational organizing, campus organizing, and more.
  • Unlike the millions dumped into TV ads, MVP invested in local organizations who do year-round, on-the-ground organizing – setting the stage for 2026 and 2028.

MVP’s work in Wisconsin is not just about winning one-off elections – it’s about transforming the state long-term. In 2018, we defeated GOP Governor Walker. In 2020, we swung the state for Biden. In 2023, we flipped the State Supreme Court. As a result, in 2024, we got fair legislative maps. Thanks to a level playing field (and a full-court press by Dems + MVP local partners), we broke the GOP supermajority and flipped fourteen legislative seats, picking up ten state Assembly seats and four Senate seats.

Looking ahead to 2026 – there is a perfect storm brewing: With 50% of the State Senate up for election, we are finally in striking distance of gaining a Democratic trifecta. If we can pull off that home run, Wisconsin will have a chance to follow in the footsteps of its progressive neighbor, Minnesota, where over a decade of organizing led to sweeping policy wins

Let’s go!!!
