AZ AANHPI Advocates encourages civic engagement and educates the community on relevant public policies to facilitate the creation of an equitable society and inclusive democracy. They know that engaging AANHPI voters in Arizona was crucial in securing progressive wins in the 2020 election and will continue beyond. As a growing demographic, the organization's continued outreach is key to ensuring that the AAPI community has a voice in shaping the trajectory of Arizona politics.
Arizona Coalition for Change (C4C) & its (c)(4) sister organization Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona (OVOV) are member-led organizations based in Phoenix and Tucson committed to advocating for lasting progressive public policies that empower and equip our most vulnerable communities. They focus on building civic and political power in black and brown communities through voter mobilization & turnout, grassroots organizing, leadership development training, voter registration, electing champions into office, and holding elected officials accountable. By putting people first, they develop and lift up the voices of the New American Majority to take on the nations’ most pressing issues.
The Arizona Dream Act Coalition (ADAC) is a youth-led immigrant group advocating for accessible higher education, immigrant rights, and civic engagement. They collaborate with local organizations to promote leadership development and grassroots organizing.With the support of local attorneys, the ADAC has provided thousands of DACA recipients with free application and renewal assistance.The ADAC serves their community by teaming up with other groups to provide assistance with food distribution, worker rights workshops and voter education.
Arizona Students' Association (ASA) empowers and prepares youth for college admission and graduation through a unique approach based upon a greater cultural understanding as a guide to personal, academic and professional excellence as future leaders.
Arizona Wins is the only unified 501(c)(4) table in Arizona, consisting of labor, civic engagement, reproductive rights, environmental, and other progressive organizations. Arizona Wins functions as a state hub for the electoral and voting rights advocacy field and communications efforts of all partners. Arizona Wins identifies shared priorities, organizes partner organizations to pool their resources, both financial and programmatic, to invest in a coordinated program to reach their shared goals, and identifies and works to fill gaps in both resources and program areas. They are experts at mobilizing young people and communities as our partners are POC lead and embedded in communities of color. Their partners have transformed Arizona and we will transform the country.
Black Political Cultivation Arizona (BPCAZ) is an all-Black, queer, femme and nonbinary-led grassroots political organization. They are flexing their creativity and passion in elections, organizing, and public policy work to dismantle the systems that categorize vibrant identities as targets and keep people poor and caged.
As a program of LCVEF and the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), Chispa Arizona’s mission is to build the power of Latinos and low-income communities of color across the state to achieve climate justice, community health, and environmental protection while insisting on accountability from polluters and decision-makers. Their community organizing and civic engagement efforts invigorate the environmental movement with new leaders, increase voter participation, and hold elected officials accountable in between election days.
Campaign for Better Neighborhoods is the sister organization to The Prometheus Conspiracy and focuses on eroding the power of police unions and far-right movements through policy advocacy and electoral strategies in municipal and state government. CBN engages community members and mobilizes voters in order to build political power necessary to abolish the criminal legal system and stem the tide of attacks on people of color and democratic society. Progressives for Democracy in America - (PDA) is a mass membership organization that operates through local chapters, in Arizona, and around the country. Its goal is to facilitate civic engagement and promote social welfare through advocacy for progressive policies. Education on progressive issues and active mobilization for voter turnout is a key part of its work. PDA's express intent is to rectify the deficit of civic engagement in society, which is a necessary component of a healthy democracy.
CASE is a multi-racial and multi-generational movement of working people dedicated to achieving economic, social, and racial justice in Arizona. CASE strives increase civic participation among young people, people of color, and low-income community members in order to create a just and sustainable economy that works for all Arizonans.
Defending rights and defeating intolerance, the Arizona chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations is the leading American Muslim advocate for justice and mutual understanding in Arizona. Their mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding. CAIR-AZ does this through our legal work, advocacy and through civic engagement programs that empower our community.
Diné Citizens Against Ruining our Environment is a recognized environmental, all-Navajo organization based within the Navajo homeland. They are empowering local and traditional people to organize, speak out and determine their own destinies. Dine CARE educates and advocates for traditional teachings and provides a voice for all life in their Four Sacred Mountains. Among their victories on multiple issues, a key win is the reform of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act.
Equality Arizona works to build the political power of LGBTQ+ people in Arizona. They connect LGBTQ+ Arizonans with the civic process at every level of government to work with elected leaders for a future that is fully inclusive of LGBTQ+ Arizonans
FUGA (Families United Gaining Accessibility) is a diverse group of Southside and Westside community members and stakeholders who are working towards mobility justice
Fuerte Arts Movement uses a hybrid approach of art, organizing, and civic engagement to execute original programming and support movement organizations to expand their creative capacity. Fuerte's mission is to empower young, Latinx, and BIPOC communities to tell and share their stories using digital and other artistic mediums to influence local policy and move people into action.
Instituto Lab is an organization focused on building effective and sustaining advocacy capacity among low-income and leaders of color in Arizona. Their programs accelerate the work of existing organizations to ensure they can scale and run impactful programs for elections and advocacy campaigns. Their work includes an executive leadership program that builds relationships and coordination across the progressive political infrastructure, and a fellowship that targets middle managers of the most influential organizations in the state. Instituto also incubates community-based organizations to build a more robust progressive infrastructure in Arizona.
