Shawnna Weighill

As National Donor Organizing Manager, Shawnna leads our efforts to recruit, welcome, and empower our volunteers nationwide, and to grow our mass-scale distributed organizing & fundraising programs. She combines her passion for organizing with her experience in tech, data analysis, political education & organizer training, leadership development, direct voter contact and fundraising to enrich this role.

Shawnna is a registered member of the Coastal Band of the Chumash Nation and was raised participating in direct actions and organizing for marginalized communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a published journalist with a professional background that includes global biotech and strategic relationship management. She became involved in Movement Politics during the 2020 Bernie Sanders Presidential Campaign where she was a Victory Captain, canvassing and assisting with local event production.

Shawnna continued on to become a National Distributed Organizer with People’s Action assisting with developing a distributed volunteer network of over a million members during the 2020 Presidential election, the special election, and beyond. She currently lives, hikes, and bikes in Denver, Colorado with her two dogs, Gracie and Frankie.
