Rachel Gordon
As Special Deputy, Rachel works closely with our ED, Billy Wimsatt, to help him stay organized and ready each day to lead MVP and keep building strong relationships with donors, partners, staff, and volunteers. As an organizer, activist, political nerd, and systems thinker who is passionate about shifting power and resources to the grassroots, and a former co-Executive Director herself, Rachel loves being in a role where she gets to work across departments and teams to support the “big picture” of MVP.
Rachel’s professional experience spans a number of fields, including nonprofit management and operations, political campaign management, social science research, and risk and crisis management. Rachel has also co-founded several local social and racial justice groups and serves on the boards of Asylum Access, an international refugee rights organization, and the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts. She holds a B.A. from Macalester College and MAs from Tufts University and its Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Originally from central Illinois, she now lives in Greenfield, Massachusetts, with her pitbull, Lionel Richie.
