Dolores Garay, a Colorado-based nonprofit powerhouse, proudly wears the titles of hellraiser, childraiser, and fundraiser.
Her expertise lies in building strong partnerships with donors and fostering a sense of community within organizations. She spent two decades collaborating with frontline groups championing education, health, youth, LGBTQ+, media, social justice, and philanthropy. Most notably, she is an expert in working with high-net-worth people of color.
She conceptualized the project that became the robust giving circle program at the Latino Community Foundation in San Francisco in 2005, directed the most successful fundraising events in their organizational history at California Rural Legal Assistance Inc and GRID Alternatives, and grew the membership of the Donors of Color Network by 211%. She is a nationally recognized fundraising trainer and event emcee.
