How is MVP different from Flip the Vote?

Flip the Vote and MVP are allied organizations that share the same core premise: The best way to block authoritarianism, build democracy, and win elections is to fund year-round, community-based organizing. Flip the Vote consults closely with MVP on strategy and targeting, primarily funding groups that are also MVP grantee partners.

Details

  • Targeting: In 2026, Flip the Vote is supporting seven groups in ten districts across five states crucial to flipping the U.S. House; to date in 2026, MVP has moved partisan funding to 72 groups across 24 states, focused on the House, Senate, state-level power, and winning in 2028.
  • Scope of Work: Flip the Vote focuses solely on direct fundraising for its partner organizations; MVP’s work includes grantmaking, capacity building, and nurturing long-term strategic collaboration across the movement at all levels.
  • Staffing: Flip the Vote is primarily volunteer-driven with an impressively lean two-person staff; MVP is operated by dozens of staff, including a team of in-house advisors and capacity builders with on-the-ground relationships and deep expertise in organizing, movements, and political strategy.
  • Donor Organizing Orientation: Both Flip the Vote and MVP treat donors as partners in their work — empowering them as volunteer donor organizers to fundraise through word-of-mouth, house parties, and more.

MVP Loves Flip the Vote!

Both organizations play crucial and complementary roles in the movement.
