Hi friends, Mark Ruffalo here. I’m on the ground in the Navajo Nation today in Arizona, getting out the vote in this critical swing state. The Harris-Walz campaign is doing everything they need to reach the voters, but we need to go that extra mile for the voters who are harder to reach. Local organizations that know their neighbors and the local issues can motivate these voters to turn out.
Those groups have a huge funding gap. In 2020, Biden won by some 40,000 votes spread across three states. One reason those voters turned out is because grassroots groups were working overtime to mobilize them. They did it in 2020, and we can do it again in 2024. But those groups need funding to win the ground game, and thankfully, our friends at Movement Voter PAC have made it easy to donate to those groups in the top nine battleground states we need to win.
The Movement Voter PAC is a national group that raises money to support smaller statewide organizations that help Democrats win. MVP has raised millions of dollars and has been giving it to groups on the ground for almost a decade now. They’ve been very, very effective.
Here’s the thing—these groups need money now. They’re already knocking on doors, they’re already on the phones. They just need the resources to scale up. We don’t want to lose this election by a few thousand votes because we were a day late or a dollar short. Right now, these groups, which don’t receive any funding from the Democratic Party, still have to raise millions to elect Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot.
We need to fund the ground game, and we need to fund it now. The easiest way to do that is to give through MVP. This way, our money goes directly to the groups working on the ground to turn out the exact voters we need to win in all the states and races that matter most.
So please, join us in donating to MVP and help #FundTheGroundGame.
