Forward Montana, National Voter Registration Day, 2024

As of September 17, Montana’s largest youth organizing organizing group, Forward Montana, has registered over 6,700 (mostly youth) voters in 2024 — for a total of 8,800 this election cycle!

This voter registration figure may seem small, but in a state with 1.1 million people, it represents roughly 1.5% of the total number of Montanans who voted in the 2020 Presidential election.

This past Saturday kicked off the first of many voter registration events hosted in honor of National Voter Registration Day. Forward Montana has 31 events across Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Columbia Falls, Dillon, Helena, Kalispell, Missoula, and Whitefish.

Flagship events include a block party with Reggie Watts & the Love Darts in Bozeman; Drag Queen Bingo Night in Billings; and live music by Rauly & Calamity Cowboy in Missoula.

As they put it, this is “the Super Bowl of voter registration.”

You can find a comprehensive list of all of the events here.

To complement the college and community registration drives, Forward Montana is hosting Democracy Days on 20 high school campuses.
