Marissa Hersh

Marissa Hersh is a Philanthropic Advisor at MVP. She joined MVP in March 2024 after more than three years advising for One for Democracy, a donor community that encourages people with wealth to give big to groups working on election protection and voter participation initiatives. She is also a chapter leader at Resource Generation in NYC, where she supports the chapter’s Moving Money work.
Prior to her roles in philanthropic advising, Marissa had a career in food education. She taught daily gardening, nutrition, and cooking classes at an NYC public school for Edible Schoolyard NYC and as a FoodCorps Service Member in Guilford County, North Carolina.
Marissa received her MA in Food Studies from New York University and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on Public Health, Food and Nutrition. She is a mom to an almost two year old and a newborn.
