‘Reality is setting in’: Possibility of a Trump return jolts Dem groups into action

The San Francisco Chronicle mentioned MVP — and quoted Margit Birge, co-founder of the MVP Bay Area Volunteer Hub — in an article on the increasing level of election-year activity among left-leaning grassroots organizations.

In their January 25, 2024 article, the San Francisco Chronicle included Movement Voter Project among the left-leaning organizations stepping up to stop Trump in November.

The article quotes Margit Birge, co-founder of MVP’s Bay Area Volunteer Hub:

Margit Birge, a co-founder of the Movement Voter Project Bay Area Hub — the local outpost of a national organization that raises money locally and sends it to grassroots organizations that are trusted messengers in battleground states — said interest in hosting fundraising parties and other events has picked up in the past couple of weeks.

“People are scared to death of Trump getting elected,” said Birge, who lives in Oakland. The likelihood of him capturing the GOP nomination “is definitely helping” drive renewed interest.
