Jacqueline Saavedra
As the Associate Director of Legal Compliance, Jacqueline is responsible for overseeing the process and procedures put in place by MVP to ensure we are following our strict legal and ethical guidelines.
She works hand in hand with our Legal Compliance and Training Manager to advise our teams on campaign finance and nonprofit law as it relates to our day-to-day activities. In addition, she is MVP’s grants manager and is responsible for facilitating our grantmaking process and liaising between programs and operations teams.
Jacqueline is a community organizer and legal advocate. As such, she understands the importance of supporting our local partners who are doing the work to uplift their communities through grassroots organizing. She is also passionate about helping all people understand, navigate, and change the legal systems that impact our daily and aspirational lives.
The daughter of Mexican immigrants and a first-generation college graduate, Jacqueline holds a Juris Doctorate degree with a focus on International/Global Studies from the University of Missouri—Kansas City. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Rockhurst University.
She is a member of the Missouri Bar, a board member of the Latino Texas PAC and in her spare time volunteers as the president of the Prospanica Houston Chapter, a professional association for Hispanic professionals.
Jacqueline lives in Houston, TX, with her partner and two fur children, Dally and Bruno.
