Dayspring Cabaniss
Regional Philanthropic Director
Dayspring joined MVP in 2025 as Regional Philanthropic Director for the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and South. She brings more than a decade of experience leading major gift fundraising for equity-driven organizations, including Catholics for Choice, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. Known for cultivating strong donor relationships and building sustainable fundraising programs, Dayspring has raised millions to support grassroots movements across the country.
What drives her work is a deep belief in the power of local organizing and the communities leading that work year-round—not just during election cycles. Her passion for MVP’s mission is personal: she grew up hearing stories of her grandparents being denied the right to vote and her family’s role in integrating North Carolina’s public schools. From an early age, she understood that civic participation isn’t guaranteed—and that justice depends on grassroots power.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Texas, Dayspring spent nearly a decade in Southern California before settling in Durham, NC, where she lives with her husband, daughter, and three cats. Outside of work, she enjoys musicals, museums, flea markets, and interior decorating. She holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and served two years as an AmeriCorps VISTA.
