Commonly Asked Questions
What’s an MVP party like?
Our parties – both online and in-person – create a shared sense of community and hope. At these events, people learn about what MVP and our grassroots partners are doing to block the MAGA agenda and win the midterms and beyond. Guests hear stories from the field, get answers to their questions, and have the opportunity to join in financial support.

Where does the money go?
Our volunteer-led house parties raise unrestricted political (PAC) dollars for our grantee partners on the ground. This means it is not designated to a specific state or issue ahead of time. This allows for the most strategic deployment of funds.
Who do I invite?
Friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, your alumni group, your weightlifting club… MVP parties can have 10-500+ attendees. It’s your party, so you and your co-hosts decide.
How much do I have to raise?
Any amount is meaningful. If you are looking for extra volunteer or staff support with your event, we ask hosts to set a goal of raising $10,000. We can help you put together a host team and guest list to get there. If you are worried about that goal, let’s talk – we can also connect you with a community host team, or you can simply go forth and plan your party without additional support.
How much planning time does it take?
We suggest starting to plan your party at least four weeks out, ideally six. Online parties usually last an hour. In-person parties are longer so that people can hang out more.
