Tue, Jul 7 ⸱ 4-5:30 PT • 5-6:30 MT • 6-7:30 CT • 7-8:30 ET
Virtual Event ⸱ Zoom link shared after registration

Discovering self-interest means understanding the values, experiences, hopes, concerns and relationships that move someone to act. In this 90-minute training, MVP Donor Organizing Manager Shawnna Weighill and Donor Organizer Natalie Somerson will show you how to uncover your own self-interest, lead with compassionate curiosity, and active listening to learn how to uncover self-interest in others.

Understanding self-interest is a key part of organizing work in order to build community, connection, and power. When people understand their personal stake in a movement, they are able to show up more boldly.

This is a foundational skill-building training and all are welcome. It is particularly relevant for our active volunteer community and will be useful for volunteers doing any kind of one-to-one conversation. This includes hub leaders, party coordinators, intake coordinators, volunteer donor advisors, and volunteer community organizers.
