Fund Georgia in 2023, Build People Power for 2024

We championed Georgia local organizers in 2020 and 2022, because we know our fates are bound together.

If we expect our Georgia partners to protect progress made and build people power for 2024, we need to invest NOW. Will you contribute?

“OUR CITY, OUR VOTE”

A multiracial coalition of residents is mobilizing to defeat a corporate-backed plan — made behind closed doors — to cut down 80+ acres of forest and build a police facility in a majority-Black area of Atlanta.

It’s going to take money for organizers to collect 70-100k+ signatures by August 15 for a November referendum. The bulk of that support is going to have to come from outside of Atlanta.

WHY INVEST IN GEORGIA? WHY NOW?

• Invest smarter: Every dollar we invest now yields far more votes in 2024 than a dollar a year from now. Every 2023 voter is far more likely to vote in 2024.

• Beat voter suppression in 2024: An engaged, registered, multiracial electorate in 2023 is a key defense against voter suppression now and in 2024.

• Show up for racial & environmental justice: The police facility our partners are fighting to prevent would be in a majority-Black area, worsening the environmental racism and pollution residents already experience.

The wins that have been made, must be protected. The progress we are cheering for, and building on, must be fortified. We showed up in 2020 and 2022. Let’s not leave the job half-finished in 2023!
