• Why: We can’t just say “We survived the last Trump term, we’ll survive now.” Many did not survive. Many more had their lives destroyed and dignity stripped. Now, many more will suffer and die when they lose access to civil protections, employment, food, shelter, and medical care. We cannot and we will not allow this to happen again. Not on our watch.

• Defending Birthright Citizenship: In January 2025, MVP partner CASA and others filed CASA v. Trump to stop Trump’s order to end birthright citizenship. On February 5, a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction, blocking the order.
• Pushing Municipalities to Pass the Trust Act: In Pennsylvania, a coalition of MVP partners are pushing municipalities to pass the Trust Act, which ends proactive collaboration with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• What: Strengthening state alliances built around shared analysis, vision, narrative, and infrastructure; supporting multi-group campaigns that yield policy wins and increased political influence; and giving capacity-building support to organizations and whole “state ecosystems”.
• Where: The perennial battleground states (AZ, GA, MI, NC, NV, PA, WI) and other key states.
• Why: We know this works because we have seen it in action. We are working closely with the architects of “the Minnesota model,” which led to some of the most sweeping policy wins of the last decade. This progress didn’t come out of nowhere – it was the result of over a decade of strategic base-building and organizing, much of which was led by MVP partners. 
• How much money: At least $4 million out of the first $10 million we raise. This is the heart of our steady, long-term work over the next decade.

• AZ: Activate 48, a coalition of MVP partners, is launching a thank-you canvass to knock 80k doors + recruit 12k members. MVP’s Arizona State Advisor is investing in strengthening their long-term work.
• GA: In January 2025, Progress GA met with several other MVP partners to plan a shared 2025 state legislative strategy. Now, MVP’s GA State Advisor is working with 10 local partners to align around a shared long-term vision and strategy.
• MI: MVP partners are exploring coordinated ballot measure campaigns in 2026 to: 1) Build their bases and train their organizers; 2) Rally around a unified narrative + compelling vision; and 3) Enact policy change that tangibly improves lives. Measures being considered include campaign finance reform, taxing the rich to fund schools, and paid family leave.
• Statewide Operations Hubs: In 2022, MVP Michigan partners created Back Office of Michigan (BOOM), an operations hub that streamlines HR, finance, and administrative functions for allied organizations across the state. Now, MVP staff are working to create hubs focused on operations, research, & comms in states like AZ, GA, PA, WI.

• Who: To identify our highest-impact partnerships, we are currently mapping the progressive media landscape while also studying our opposition's successes. This will involve new levels of innovation and collaboration with a wide array of allies as well as media and tech players. 
• What: Seeding and scaling the best strategies to grow the progressive media ecosystem, as well as infusing smart media and culture-shifting strategies into partners’ core organizing work.
• Where: We are examining national, state, and local strategies, with an emphasis on the perennial battleground states (AZ, GA, MI, NC, NV, PA, WI).
• Why: Media has radically changed and we have to “adapt or die.” This is a long-term strategy, but we have to start mapping the landscape and making initial R&D investments ASAP – so we can impact 2026 and 2028.
• How much money: At least $1 million out of the first $10 million we raise. We are happy to recommend media-focused partner organizations to fund directly, but we also believe MVP has a unique role to play at the intersection of catalytic organizing and new media innovation.

• GA: Progress Georgia & other MVP partners are working to engage Black, LGBTQ+, Muslim, and other marginalized voters via podcasts & digital media.
• ME: Maine People’s Alliance is working to expand the reach of its MaineBeacon.com news site, which is educating Maine voters year-round about news and issues with a progressive lens.
• MI: Distill Social is launching a media company to support left-leaning entertainment, political podcasts, and cross-platform content.

• Who: MVP partners including Wisconsin Conservation Voters, Voces de la Frontera Action, Blue Sky Waukesha, Fair Wisconsin, Wisconsin Working Families Party, Power to the Polls Wisconsin, and many more.
• What: Tailored voter persuasion and mobilization by door, phone, text, mail, digital ads, relational organizing, campus organizing, and more, using paid and volunteer-driven voter contact. Issue targeting will include: Community safety, reproductive freedom, climate, democracy, criminal justice reform, and labor rights.
• Where: Moderate-leaning to strongly Democratic voters in 20+ Wisconsin counties.
• Why: Winning this race will enable us to bust the myth of a "Trump mandate"; protect fair Presidential and U.S. Senate elections in 2028; potentially un-gerrymander a GOP House seat; and win state rulings on voting rights, reproductive freedom, collective bargaining, and more.
• How much money: At least $2 million out of the first $10 million we raise.

One More Step Toward a Progressive Wisconsin

Funding year-round organizing groups working on this race is important in and of itself — but it’s also one step in MVP’s 10+ year strategy to build long-term progressive power in the Badger State.

• In 2018, Democrats and progressives helped now-Governor Tony Evers (D) defeat Governor Scott Walker (R) in one of the closest races, ending eight years of Republican rule.
• In 2020, Biden beat Trump by 20,682 votes (0.6%), making Wisconsin the official “tipping point” state. MVP Wisconsin partners made 9+ million voter contact attempts in this race.
• In 2023, we helped flip the Wisconsin Supreme Court by electing liberal Judge Janet Protasiewicz. Shortly after, the court tossed out grossly GOP-gerrymandered legislative maps, opening the door to the passage of new, more fairly drawn maps.
• In 2024, Dems held all their State Assembly seats and flipped ten, trimming the GOP majority to 54-45. In the State Senate, Dems flipped four seats, ending the GOP supermajority for a new split of 18-15. In 2026, we’ll have the chance to flip both chambers and win a trifecta.

By investing in local Wisconsin organizing now, we are building power that will grow for years to come.
